student-centeredplaceravellingbeganJiaxing is the place where the Chinese revolution begins and is also an important city along the canal. Along the trajectory of the Grand Canal, Southwest School is located along the coast. Under such superior geographical conditions, the campus land faces nature and the city. We treat the school as an important point along the Grand Canal, an ecological campus intertwined with nature and symbiotic with the city. The school is like an ark of knowledge traveling on the canal, setting sail with the cultural spirit of the Grand Canal.

Starting from the functional layout, the design proposal places the shared classrooms on the ground floor, and responding to the site’s location, between the city and nature, the second-floor platform serves as an extension of the Grand Canal landscape, forming a natural transition between the canal in the north and the city in the south. The floating teaching group on the platform strives to break the single layout of traditional teaching buildings, integrate classrooms and activity spaces, introduce green ecological courtyards, streets and other spaces, and create a series of places to promote interaction between teachers and students. This design hopes to create an oasis of knowledge for the city, and create an open, shared, innovative and flexible knowledge places that is student -centered on a fluid and interesting campus.

嘉兴,是中国革命红船起航的地方，也是运河沿岸的重要城市。沿着大运河的轨迹，西南九年一贯制学校坐落于沿岸，在这样优越的地理条件下，校园用地面向自然和城市。我们将学校看作大运河沿岸的重要节点，一座与自然交织，城市共生的生态校园。学校如同一艘艘遨游在运河上的知识方舟，带着大运河文化精神扬帆起航。

方案从功能布局出发，将共享学堂放置底层， 二层平台作为大运河景观的延伸，形成北侧运河到南侧城市之间的自然过渡。平台之上漂浮教学组团，力图打破传统教学楼的单一布局，将教室与活动空间融合，引入绿野般生态的庭院，街道等空间，创造出一系列促进师生互动的场所。本次设计希望为城市创造一片知识绿洲，在富有流动性和趣味性的校园里，以学生为本，营造一个开放共享，创新灵活的教学方舟。
